Nope, this won't happen. Intel has all those fabs pouring out parts and they will not allow anything to shut those fabs down. In fact, rather than considering reducing market share they are planning on expanding beyond PC CPUs to many other areas in order to become even more dominate even if these new areas are much lower margin areas than the PC biz currently is.

If the crisis comes, Intel will collapse the ASP and retain market share. Of course this will devastate the stock price but:
1. As the low cost supplier and with a huge cash horde and with the best brand name they can hold out longer than anyone else so the devastation will be temporary.
2. Intel didn't get to where they are today by running away from AMD or anyone else. They will stand and fight.
