They were given x86 on a silver platter but this time it's different. Intel could not reverse engineer the Merced. It's a matter of patented and radically new fabrication technology combined with who-knows-what kind of design software (no human could ever design this) and other breakthrough technology. The whole game has changed, this has to be in a different and prohibitively expensive realm compared with the existing design/fabrication methods.
