I'd also point out that people who just want a computer for internet use have less need for Windows than someone who wants a computer to run, say, Office 2000. So Linux looks even more strongly positioned for this offering.

And don't think that Microsoft will charge for IE on Linux. Dropping the price to zero, getting rid of the competition, then raising prices afterwards? They're already in enough trouble with the DOJ. Besides, they did say 'free forever,' though nobody really believes much about what they say anymore anyway.
