Further to news in Stockwatch May 19, 1999, the company hereby provides the
following additional information on AVL Information Systems Ltd., (AVLIS).
AVLIS is headquartered in Big Rapids, Mich., near the campus of Ferris
State University. AVLIS and its core staff of four engineers have a working
relationship with the engineering program at Ferris State University and
its students. Ford, General Motors and Chrysler have established a 50,000
square foot research facility at the university. AVLIS was formed by
amalgamation in 1992 and has been quoted on the CDN since that date. The
OVT (on-line vehicle tracking) system developed by the research and
development department of AVLIS became operational in April of this year.
Montello will continue in the diamond exploration business with projects in
Alberta and Manitoba. The acquisition of the interest in the new joint
venture company to be formed for the development of the OVT system is
subject to the approval of the Alberta Stock Exchange.
