No, Cube hopes to bmilk the internet mania like everybody else.

..as soon as Divi.com can be split off (or Cube cast away like a garbage barge), bunch of hype currency run through the printing mint ("internet transcoders!", "streaming MPEG-2 this and that!"), the French mis-connection can finally let the world of lunch money investors take them to a ridiculous $100/share. At least that's the fantasy.

I think the deals that Alex has rejected so far are not based on $/share offer, but on the golden handcuffs the suitors want to attach to the echelon. Cube hardware bites. The intellectual property is so-so.

So you buy the people. But the people you want to buy would much rather cash in on the internet phenomenon (before it disappears, or reality catches up, or the Y2K hysteria, etc.) over at Divi.com.

The chip business sucks all around. Broadcom is a pearl-coated kidney stone in the Semiconductor Oyster.
