I don't know if I'm missing something here or not. All I got out of Vollendorf's interview was that he invests according to specific criteria. He didn't say that Microforum wasn't a good investment, he just said that "...a lot of the Internet stocks haven't met our investment criteria."
This in no way suggests that Microforum hasn't got what it takes to perform well, or even out perform Vollendorf's picks, it simply means that Microforum fundamentals fall outside of the Bissitt criteria. Vollendorf may very well invest in Microforum in another "... 3, 6, 9 months...", but he will most definitely pay a lot higher for it.
If you consider what Vollendorf said about bid.com, he was watching the stock since it's infancy but stayed away from it. So did a lot of analysts. Does this mean that they were wrong? No! If BII met their criteria and they still didn't invest, then not only would I say they were wrong, I'd say they're a cup and a saucer short of a full setting. However, plain and simple, all they're saying is that they've developed a system of investing that must meet certain criteria and bid.com or Microforum, et al just doesn't meet that specific criteria.
I haven't explored their funds, but I would imagine (from what I've read in the SH interview) that they are conservative and low risk with smaller but more dependable returns.
Me? I prefer to live a bit of my life on the edge.
