Sun, I see your point about the "distancing" comment. Still doesn't make sense to me though. If they are talking about product breadth, ATI still has 'em licked, and s3 as well. Call them what you will, the TNT, TNT2 and Vanta all seem to be pretty much the same, aside from the clock. Doesn't really impress me much. TDFX is doing it as well...but we also have V2 add in boards to compliment current systems (yeah, not much of a selling point these days...), and multi-function boards on the way. NVDA doesn't seem to be doing anything particularly impressive from a strategic standpoint, aside from strengthening relationships...

Sun, had two companies, FORE and PRXL taken out virtually simultaneously a few weeks ago...that was the last good news my port has had...I sold some goodies and bought some dogs (ahem...Internet dogs...). Got out of PSFT and JDAS right at the bottom of the "we don't need no steenking ERP software" trough...still think that sector looks weak though, up until the clock hits 2000 anyway.
And I finally bought MSFT, only to watch it drop...I figure I should ask Gates for $1Billion...he pays me, I get out of the stock. I get out, MSFT goes up. Hey, it only needs to go up a fraction, and he breaks even...maybe somebody could convince him that it would be a bargain... |
