Sora Sora drilling planned for May; Agua de Castilla holdings expanded

Samex Mining Corp SXG
Shares issued 18,559,481 Mar 10 close $1.95
Mon 10 Mar 97 News Release
Mr Jeffrey Dahl reports
The Sora Sora property covers a polymetallic hot springs system indicated
by sinter, veins, and breccia occurrences along a 5km segment of the Coniri
fault system adjacent to the Laurani Ag-Cu-Au deposit currently being
explored by Corriente Resources. The Coniri trend also contains the Kori
Kollo gold deposit (+60 million tonnes 0.07 oz/t) which is being open pit
mined by Battle Mountain and the San Jose mineralized centre (silver-tin)
near Oruro. The Sora Sora property holdings consist of three exploitation
concessions totalling 5400 hectares wholly owned by Samex. The property is
ideally located close to a paved highway, railroad, and electrical power
lines.
The veins and breccia zones were exploited during Spanish Colonial times
for silver. Sinter and vein/breccia material are known to carry anomalous
gold, silver, arsenic, zinc, lead, antimony, and mercury. The prospect area
will be explored for epithermal, bulk mineable gold-silver deposits and
bonanza-grade vein/breccia structures hosted in dacite intrusion/volcanics
and Cretaceous sediments.
Current exploration activity includes geologic mapping and rock chip
sampling. Extensive IP/resistivity surveys are planned to be completed in
early April. Reverse circulation and core drilling are planned to commence
in May.
Agua de Castilla
A large chargeability target outboard to a range-front fault system and
associated sinter/breccia deposits has been found to be more extensive in
size than previously thought. Additional concessions have been added to
cover the anomaly target and its projected north-south extension. IP
surveys are being continued to define the extent of the target zone.
Reverse circulation drilling is planned to commence in early to mid-May to
test for bulk-mineable epithermal gold deposits hosted by Cretaceous
sediments and folded/thrusted Ordovician black shale and siltite.
