Light travels at 300,000,000 meters per second, so a one way trip to a satellite at 10,000 Km takes ~.033 seconds (33 milliseconds). A round trip would take ~.066 seconds. However, most of the delays in a communication circuit are not in the transit time, but in the processing. You are absolutely correct Maurice, it doesn't take a half second, which is the standard for people recognizing delay. CSM
