OT Shooting There was an incredible piece in the New Yorker this week--Talk of the Town--forget about the so-called "culture of violence" as an explanation, too easy--the answer should be "grief and gun control." Moreover, I've been thinking too that parents are away from home too much, probably mothers should stay home until kid goes to school, and then one parent should be home at 3 p.m. when kid comes home from school--too much absence, or shuttled out early to daycare means they form their primary bond to peer group, and that can be disastrous. The compass/hub should be the family. It's a latchkey world.
