Tandberg TVshares surge on DiviCom rumour
Reuters Story - May 20, 1999 10:20
OSLO, May 20 (Reuters) - Shares in Norway's Tandberg Television , a maker of parts for televisions, surged on Thursday on rumours that it might be the takeover target of U.S. partner DiviCom, a unit of C-Cube , traders said.

Tandberg TV shares were trading 7.5 crowns firmer at 84 at 1355 GMT. Tandberg TV managing director Arne Graee told Reuters he was unable to comment on the market rumours.

In what he called a general comment on Tandberg TV's strategy, he said: "Our focus is on organic growth and to buy ourselves. But we are open for everything."

He said that Tandberg TV and DiviCom had cooperated for four years in a reciprocal deal under which Tandberg TV distributes DiviCom equipment in Norway.

Graee also declined comment on the reasons for the share price surge. "We let the market decide the rate," he said.
