Springfield is the nearest major airport. There are not many airlines that fly into here, TWA, United and maybe Northwest. The flight schedules are lousy and the flights are really expensive. Believe it or not, perhaps the best thing to do is fly into St. Louis or Kansas City and rent a car for the 3 hour drive to Springfield. Springfield airport is about 75 miles from Lake of the Ozarks and about 50 miles from Branson.

I flew to and from National Airport a couple of weeks ago and had 1-1/2 hour layovers in St. Louis going each way. I don't fly commercially too often since my company has a couple of planes and I try to schedule my business trips so I can fly on those. I cannot requisition them but I am able to bum a ride every once in a while. I rarely fly for pleasure.
