Dear Donald,

This problem is very complex but I can tell you it has nothing to do with education in America or math scores etc. The root of the problem is that the market for grad students and scientists has been manipulated ever since Nixon went to China. This is when the importation of grad students began and has led to the importation of scientists and engineers. It was further enhanced by false claims over the years by the NSF and Corporations concerning the coming shortage. If the market place had been allowed to operate someone going to grad school would not have to spend five to ten years in poverty, three to five years as a post-doc in a temp position working for under 30K and then land a temp job for 40k. This is why Americans are not going into science and engineering grad schools. The cheap foreign imports provided by the US government are too much of an enticement for universities and corporations. Notice there is no shortage of Americans going into law or medical schools were this situation does not exist. Alan
