I'm just trying to point out that the perspective on this thread seems too one sided at times.

Fortunately retail sales have been just as one sided. ;-)

I was in Best Buy yesterday. There is a large area of shelf space devoted to both 3dfx cards (V2 & V3) and TNT2 cards. The TNT2 cards haven't arrived yet, but when they do the shelf space will be occupied by competing brands with different packaging. The 3dfx cards have a cohesive packaging, are easily associated with each other, and clearly identify to the user which is more powerful (1000, 2000, 3000), with escalating price points. If you want to talk about non-techies, which would you rather have, a 770 or a 3000? ;-)
