Ah- Correct me if I'm wrong (you will any way), but the evidence for the lack in inflation, until VERY recently, is everywhere in my part of the country. Falling housing prices, gas under a buck (until this month), computers for 1/4 of what I paid three years ago. I can replace my 10 year old car with the latest model for only about $1000 more than I paid in 1989. I'm still starting out my new hires at the same rate I gave them 15 years ago. I haven't raised my rates on photographic services in over ten years. My clients haven't been able to raise their rates in the same time frame and some are working for less. My venders raise their rates and then give me "buying incentive packages" back. I just flew round trip to CA for less than I paid in 1974. Maybe I'm living in some kind of depressed bizarro world here. If it wasn't for the money I've made in the stock market in the last 13 years, I'd be mighty discouraged right now, because, until I do a net worth statement it doesn't look like I'm making any progress.
