No, I don't own MRK. But I am building a portfolio that I call "DA-Dow-BTL" -- Dividend Achiever stocks in the Dow that figure in the book "Built to Last" (very good book, I highly recommend it).
The list of stocks there would be -- C, DIS, GE, HWP, JNJ, MO, MMM, MRK, PG, WMT. I will add some or all of these stocks to my portfolio whenever the next severe pullback occurs. And then I intend to hold them for the long haul (at least 20 years) as long as they continue to raise their dividends... |
