Douglas,

I also like MASK very much, but I have never bought into the stock. I have wondered often, however, why its price is always about one-half of what it should be, based on similar valuation ratios the market uses to price the other 2 mask makers, DPMI and PLAB. To me, that has been a real mystery.

Both DPMI and PLAB have recently announced their quarterly performance, which seemed to be in the same "ballpark".

On 4/21, DPMI announced their third quarter earnings - revenues were $67.2M, roughly the same as last year, while net income was down to $0.28 per share compared to $0.50 per share last year.

Yesterday, 5/19, PLAB announced their second quarter earnings - revenues were $53.8M, down 12 percent from the record $61.3M last year, while net income was down to $0.09 per share compared to $0.22 per share last year.

From an earnings point of view, DPMI was down 44 percent while PLAB was down 59 percent. Some difference, but not a lot.

I will be looking forward with great interest to MASK's earnings report. My "gut" tells me it will be the best report of the three companies. If this turns out to be true, will that have an impact on how the market prices MASK with respect to DPMI and PLAB? I am waiting with bated breath.

Don W.
