Precious Metals Recovery Program Nears Completion

Drill Programs to Begin This Month

Toronto, Ontario March 11, 1997 -- International Precious Metals Corporation (IPM) announced today that the independent research facility conducting its
precious metals recovery program has reported that assays from bulk sample sizes of 250 kilograms show no degradation of gold recovery. The program was
initiated on December 19, 1996 to test BRX (Black Rock Extended) samples from 150 grams to bulk samples of 500 kilograms utilizing leach processes. The
research facility expects to complete its pilot plant testing of the 500 kilogram samples by March 14, 1997. To date, all of IPM's research work and laboratory
analysis has been conducted independently.

Based on the data generated from the pilot plant program, on March 17, 1997, IPM will turn over to Behre Dolbear & Co., Inc. the recovery process procedures
for their independent review/evaluation that IPM's leaching procedures are an effective recovery process.

IPM also announced that on March 17, 1997 it will commence a 28-hole drill program comprised of 2,600 meters of reverse circulation drilling to bedrock.
Spacing will be at 1,000-meter centers surrounding the original 1-sq/km drill grid. The objective of this drill program is to test mineralization in the 8-sq/kms
surrounding the grid in order to help further define the extent of the precious metals anomaly.
