Actually Bearded One, I think there are a lot of people on this thread that have such an emotional dislike for amzn that they can't see the forest through the trees. If you want to short an internet stock let me give you a few candidates: Silk (cmgi baby), msgi (another one), ivillage, tscm, etc. etc., the list goes on and on of second and third tier recent ipos that are way way overvalued.

Just looking at CMGI for a moment, take a look at their recent offerings - silk, msgi, raging bull? - these are not companies!! Of course being a sort of VC there is an unknown element to cmgi and that seems to propel them but how much is that worth really?

Otoh, amazon has revolutionized their market and has investments in premiere offerings... my favorite being homegrocer.com - a lot of potential there, and drugstore.com which is also really good but planetrx is not far behind, still, pretty good. Absolutely no comparison between amazon's holdings and the junk on the plate at cmgi. In amazon's core book & CD business they lead... of course there is the admittedly huge negative of amzn balance sheet.

Now with all this info explain to me why you all think amazon is the premiere short in the internet universe vs all the others please or is this just an emotional opinion on your part shorters? Amzn vs. silk, amzn vs. tscm, amzn vs. cmgi, amzn vs. ivil, amzn vs. pcln... of all those companies amazon comes out the loser? Come on!
