God told Adam that he was going to create the perfect mate.
He said he would create a creature of Majestic Beauty.
This creature would be Soft, Desirable in every way, and a wonderful companion. This creature, called woman, would cook for him, keep his home clean and beautiful, fix his torn ragged clothes, trade stocks profitably for him, tend the fields, bear his children, and be perfect in every way. The woman would be wonderful to converse with, be interested in all the same things he was interested, and take care of him in every way. But for this perfect mate, he would have to sacrifice his right arm, left leg, one of his gems, and a few organs.
So, Adam thought about the proposition for a while and asked,
"What can I get for a rib?"
