to ron
i have owned hd since 1982and with all the splits
over these years the total of my shares is awesome.
whoever says splits don,t count is wrong.the stock
divides and then after a slow period goes back to
the high level it enjoys now.
i have attended the last annual meetings in
atlanta and if they don,t announce a split or raise
the dividends at that time(which i reinvest)then we
must wait until the following year for some action
to take place.
so you can see i love hd.but there is one
troubling factor that concerns me.the chairman and
co-founder of hd is very close to retirement age.
his shoes will be very hard to fill.
between b.marcus of hd,and jack welch of ge
who is leaving in 2000,these stocks are my biggest
holdings.it gives me something to consider in te
fuure.
