Good news for Adaptec, better news for IOM:

from an Adaptec press release this am 9:30:

CD-R Software can be purchased at the Adaptec World Wide Web site
with any major credit card.

Easy-CD Pro 1.2 or 2.0 for Windows (NT, 95 or 3.1): $349.-
Easy-CD Pro 2.0 for Windows, Upgrade: $99.-
CD Creator 1.1 for Windows: $249.-
CD Creator 1.1 for Windows, Upgrade: $99.-
Toast for Macintosh: $299.-
Toast for Macintosh, Upgrade: $99.-

This is good short-term news for IOM as it shows the extra cost involved in CD-R, of $300-$350 for SW, AFTER you buy the burner.
Today may be a big covering day, as people who've made a lot of money shorting on the way down, know how this thing is going to spring up and go long for another quick profit. There has been classic price depression right before an earnings runnup. I don't believe the major shorters will afford to take the chance on good earnings from what is certainly to be a couple great quarters of increased margins due to Penang. I don't think most investors will be as daring or greedy as Joels' boss, why risk the dual profit gains from covering short within a buck of the low and going long for the earnings ride?? IMO

They're running out of bad news to keep this down, at any rate, it's only got a buck to go before the MAJOR support @ $13, & earnings to follow.
