The Sandinistas established a dictatorship inimical to US interests.

Is it really reasonable to demand that the Government of Nicaragua be responsive to American interests? What happens when a government decides that the interests of their own people do not coincide with those of the US? Do we have the right to overthrow them?

What kind of dictatorship holds an election, and steps down when it loses? Not that the Sandinistas were lovely folks, but they were by all accounts a big step up from Somoza.
