GENERAL MOTORS said that it has raised its 2Q North American
production estimate by 25,000 vehicles due to strong demand,
especially for pickup trucks and midsize cars. The world's largest
automaker said it now expects to build 1.537 million cars and
trucks between April and June, 365,000 more vehicles than, or a
31% hike from, the strike-impacted 2Q last year. "We know how hot
the truck market is, and we're responding to that," said GM North
