We know why Arlen left. He wanted to go solo.

But, i'm puzzled by what you said:

"I think when the Executive Director of Sales & Marketing - Arlen Bartsch left in November 1996, things changed for the worse."

... why do you think things have changed for the worse? Is it the decline in share price? Well, that would have happened regardless.

Investors are disappointed over earnings, not Corel's ability to advertise and market products. They know what kind of exceptional marketing machine Corel has. In fact, analysts feel that Corel should ease back on Advertising and Marketing. For example, what impact would there be (on revenues) if Advertising was 20% of revenues instead of 25%. I really don't see a sudden drop in revenues in such a scenerio, but earnings would definitely improve.

Best regards,

ah
