That disconnect exists between the price of Softbank and the price of their major underlying asset, Yahoo/USA. I suspect that your friends who were buying Softbank and shorting Yahoo had some sleepless nights at times when logic did not seem to be keeping up in a timely fashion. <G>. The logic of the whole Internet arena seems to not fit with traditional methods for valuing stocks. I've owned Microsoft for four or five years and I have worried about the high PE multiples at times. Now I have the Internet Stocks to make my Microsoft seem like a staid, solid investment <G>. Anyway, I'll be interested to see how well the Softbank ADR's track the Softbank 9984 stock price. I don't expect a hugh disconnect, but I think we could see transient anomolies from time to time. There are some arbitragers who make a pretty good living dealing in apparently small discrepancies in pricing.
