I would suspect that the large hiring in late 98 would have created a training burden, especially if they are gearing up for new facilities - that is always harder than adding to existing lines. Whatever the cause, I think the message is that slightly lower margins are here to stay.

DELL's revenue per employee will go up over time if they continue to shift sales to the net and maintain current manufacturing efficiency.
