I don't think the nasty bits you see
on the evening news are significant.

Third world famine, AIDS, tobacco-related
cancer deaths, heart disease, those would
be significant. Traffic accidents kill
quite a few people, I guess you touched
on that with the road rage, but falling
asleep at the wheel is probably worse than
being all worked up.

But none of these things really add up,
humans breed plenty fast, especially in
those parts of the world where large families
are considered normal.

Okay, let's get back on topic: Whales--why
do you see whales beached on the coast from
time to time?

A. Pollution
B. Disease
C. Running away from crazed Makah murderers
D. Malnutrition

heheh, mostly 'D' I should think.
The Makah are certainly no threat.
Doubt that there is any significant pollution
out in the our ocean. Disease is probably a
distant second. Hey, let's find a good NMFS
website with a FAQ...
