Hi Christine. Isn't Ireland where thousands died from the potato famine that happened long before pesticides and genetic engineering were used? I believe that the famine could have been averted with the proper use of pesticides.

I agree with the article that more study is needed before this corn is widely used. I also think that the BT modified corn will end up being a better solution than pesticide spraying. We need to have some kind of insect control in order to feed the masses.
