What's wrong with the x86 instruction set?

1. Not enough registers.
2. Variable length instructions.
3. Variable length prefixes.
4. String instructions.
5. Too many addressing modes.
6. Unbarriered self-modifying code.
7. Stack based architecture.
8. Mandatory segment addressing.

Of course all these complicated, idiotic features have the byproduct of lots of engineering employment- so I should be grateful.
