Dale, don't forget about auto-execution, which I beleive explains trades at the inside that do not change the L2 screen. For example, if MASH, ISLD, GSCO, MSCO, and MLCO are on the bid, and I put in an order to sell 1000 at that bid, I'll be executed through NITE which is the MM to whom my broker sells order flow. However, none of the bids will change because of my sell.
