Thanks for the support guys, let me just put an end to this (this has got to be the silliest thing I've ever
seen):
1) Yes, I sent the email
2) No one violated any NDAs
3) I have been in contact with AMD and I have worked out an agreement with them
4) I get my first non-AMD K7 motherboard within the next month, along with an updated revision of the
K7.
5) I've been sitting on K7 info for quite a while now, some of it hasn't been too great. However out of
respect for AMD I refrained from publishing the bugs they successfully tackled with later revisions of the
chip. I must say that the K7 is looking to be a very sweet chip. When the official K7 review goes up, it
will be based on a chip received under NDA from AMD.
6) The only reason I slipped that 550 benchmark in there was to tone down some of the hype that the
K7 has drawn. There are many non-believers, and it's about time for the market to start believing that
AMD does have a very competitive chip, even in performance.
7) I thought the whole Tom/Q3A thing was quite silly as well. Tom made a mistake, and although he did
not handle the response to his readers in the most political way, he spoke his mind and we cannot
punish him for that. It's not my place to say whether or not I think he crossed the line, but he did
apologize (somewhat) and what's done is done, we should all move on. There are a lot of people that
would just love to see someone as successful as Tom just disappear, and that, unfortunately, fueled
what ended up being a full scale attack on Tom - now that I don't stand for at all. Tom is a very
successful individual, let him enjoy his success. If someone feels that another person doesn't deserve
his/her success, it should be up to that other person to fail on their own, only then will the question
"Does this person deserve their success?" be answered. There's no point in trying to take someone
down by slinging mud on the internet, there's enough of that garbage going around our society today.
8) Chris "ruiner" Tom is allowed to have his own opinion. I am aware that AMDZone doesn't hold me in
the highest regards, and it isn't my job to make them like me. I encourage any site to publish the truth
and their feelings, its up to the readers to decide whether or not they agree/disagree with the author's
statements. Am I offended? Not at all, like I said before, everyone is allowed to have their own opinion,
I'm not here to change it. I'm here to do what I love doing and do the best job I possibly can.
This isn't anything to get too worked up about, the bottom line is that you'll get a K7 review on time and
in the usual AnandTech-style. Now if you don't like the usual AnandTech-style, drop me an email with
any suggestions for improvement and I'll gladly consider them. If what you see on AnandTech really
repulses you (if I start posting 486 DX2-66 rules reviews or something ) I'm sure there are a number
of people here that are willing to point you in another direction. Here are a few of my personal favorites
