To all,

And here's the press release:

Titanium Metal Wood Sales to Increase in 1997

PR Newswire - March 11, 1997 08:02

CARLSBAD, Calif., March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- According to Callaway Golf Company (NYSE: ELY), the recent announcement by Oregon Metallurgical Corp.(OREMET-R Titanium) that Oregon Metallurgical Corp. expects its titanium sales to the golf clubhead producers to be less in 1997 than in 1996 should not be intrepreted to mean that Callaway Golf Company's sale of golf clubs with titanium heads would be down in 1997 from 1996 levels.

According to Donald H. Dye, President and C.E.O., "While it is Callaway Golf's practice not to comment on press releases by vendors, the reaction to Oremet's press release prompts us to state that Callaway Golf Company anticipates that sales of our titanium metal woods will be up substantially in 1997 from 1996 levels and, with the introduction of our Great Big Bertha(R)Tungsten * Titanium Irons, the sale of titanium golf clubs as a category will be significant in 1997."
