re: management goof-up

From what I can tell: Yes

Neo was expecting the 3D chip to be ready by now (why did they not know of the production problems until now is a mystery); thus they did not increase production of the 256 AV chip. Furthermore, the shortage in LCD screens forced an early migration to high end machines. Companies like DELL, Compaq, etc decided to use these LCD in high end machines to maximize profits. In turn, demand for the 128 chip is less than anticipated while demand for the 256AV chip is greater than anticipated.

Neo appears to have been caught with their pants down: Product transition coupled with a shift in the laptop market to higher end machines. Hopefully, the 3D chip will be released soon and 256AV production can be increased

Neo management should be out in force today trying to put out the fire. Yet I have heard nothing. This only supports my opinion that Neo needs a new CEO or at least a new PR department.

Does anyone have a clue as to how much this will hurt NEO? Preferred Man. Cap. just cut earnings from $1.43 to $0.70. Ouch!
