Yep, Mama Bear, there are sites for us to get real-time quotes free. But the fact that we see them free doesn't mean the supplier gets them free. I assume that if SI could have negotiated real-time quotes at reasonable cost from NYSE and NASD/ASE, we'd already be looking at them. Therefore, price-stamping will most likely use delayed quotes.

Similarly, some brokerage sites offer free Level II quotes (free to clients only?). If SI could get Level II free, I think we'd see that too.

In other words, just because we don't pay for some data under some circumstances doesn't mean SI can display it free for all of us to see.
