One take may be that he didn't see his options paying off in the near future. As a long, I can see a bright side to that- MCDE hasn't repriced executive options which I think amounts to white collar theft.

As you point out, it would be nice to see if he's moving on to something better. It concerns me a bit, as CFO's play an important role in financing, which for biotechs that tend to burn capital during development is critical to success.
