I surf-fish daily during the summer near my summer home at Dewey Beach, Delaware, and have a steady stream of tourists coming by and asking questions. Two of my favorites:1/ Teen-aged boy, as I was pulling in and displaying a 3 lb. blue fish, "Do you ever catch any fish here ?" ??????? Of course I answered NO !!! 2/ Lady with camera around her neck, asks "When do the dolphins come out?" I answered, in my South Philly smart-alecky way, "7:30am, in about 15 minutes !!!" She then waited right there for the promised 7:30 a.m. scheduled appearance of the dolphins, while I secretly grinned about the silliness of the question and the joke I was playing on her !!!...Wouldn't you know that the dolphins came along precisely at 7:30 a.m......and she thanked me graciously for my help!! |
