Peter, I think Ross's ability to get production going has never been in doubt. It is sales of what it makes that is the problem. That is why they had a write down of 34 million in unsold processors.

Also, the article says Ross expects to start selling Viper in 1999, not next year or this year. That may be a mistake, but it's so far off at this point that I wouldn't see Viper doing anything to help Ross's current situation.

Fred May was in management years ago and has been called back to handle things until someone can be found to save the ship. They are in desperate need of a leader and a salesman to get some design wins.

Ross has to take focus and either become a hardware vendor or go back to OEM relations. Their current 32 bit systems are not selling well against Sun's new systems. So what can they do? It is very uncertain.

Again, my thoughts are, as Fujitsu beomes the big debt holder, will they be able to claim all the intelectual rights of Ross before the shareholders and thereby screw us out of any value this stock might hold? I think Ross might do well to just become a division of Fujitsu. What else is it good for? Would be interesting to see if a Fujitsu man becomes CEO.

Should Fujitsu want to claim ownership of Ross, does anyone expect them to buy our shares? I doubt it. I think they'll just bankrupt the company and distribute the assets, to themselves.

Mark
