Heres an interesting email I got today. It looks like Individual Investor online is trying to recruit members. Since these investment discussion sites are only worth the quality of their posters I wonder if these other sites will lure good people away somehow?
They are even giving out free baseball caps! (too bad I don't do baseball but if it was a furby... well...)
Dear Michelle Harris:
Hi, I'm Laurie Gordon, Executive Editor of Individual Investor Online (http://www.iionline.com). The staff at Individual Investor has read many of your posts on Silicon Investor's AMZN message board and we're very impressed with your comments.
I'd like to invite you to share your thoughts with our community of serious investors on Individual Investor Online's message boards. Of course, I'm not asking you to stop posting on Silicon Investor, but we'd love for you to share your smart ideas with our community.
Check us out. I think you'll agree that we have one of the best, free sites on the Web for the individual investor, with research, analysis, commentary, financial news, fundamental data, investment tools and message boards. You'll find our pages load quickly and our message board features (with ignore buttons and discussion threads) are unparalleled.
Our goal is to provide our community of users with high quality message boards. We know you can add to that quality -- you're good! We welcome your participation!
In fact, we think you'll add so much to our community, that we'll send you a really cool baseball hat just for posting.
Thanks for your time. Hope to see you on IIOnline!
