The link below takes you to an interesting press release from Applied Magnetics which discusses the state of its TFI and MR programs. APM also goes out of its way to diss Read Rite's TFI and MR programs. The reference to the poor yields of RDRT's advanced planar head production line, for example, is significant because WDC, Quantum, Maxtor and Micropolis are counting on those planar heads for the 4th quarter.
