Why does everyone assume it is the short sellers who are doing all of the selling? That is a pretty cocky attitude if you ask me. How do you know that some of the longs aren't selling because they are scared? How do you know that the insiders aren't selling because their stock nearly tripled and they want to take some profits? How do you know the institutions that bought in between $5 and $8 aren't trying to secure some profit before this thing goes back down to $5? How do you know that the institutions that bought in between $10 and $14 aren't selling to minimize their loss?

There was news today and generally people buy on the rumor and sell on the news. That is the way the game works. The short sellers also contribute by playing the downward momentum, like parasites, but the net movement of a stock is a combination of many factors.

I feel bad that the stock is moving downward but at the same time I am glad that I resisted the urge to buy during the frenzy. As soon as this thing settles out and finds a nice bottom I will be happy to buy some shares for the long term.
