Yaacov, Good analysis of the Russian/Serbian relationship! Russia bears watching (no puns intended), especially if someone like Primakov succeeeds Yeltsin.... And agreed the Balkans have lived up to their reputation as a miserable place to conduct a military campaign.

Remember too that even the up to then invincible Huns got bogged down and defeated in 455AD by a combined Roman/German force in the Balkans.....
