"how do you see this company ever really gaining any value providing free medical information" Eyeballs, advertising and e-commerce. This is a MEDIA company. How do you think Yahoo, and other free content providers, make money? How about radio and television stations with free programming? "I can get sometimes better info on yahoo" Maybe you can, but I have found Dr.Koop.com's site to be extremely inclusive and comprehensive. This site has everything from links to prescription renewals with major to pharmacies, to tons of health info and news, to all sorts of e-commerce activities (drugstore, vitamins, health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance).
