Divorced from considered principles of morality, natural law, law is mere fiat aimed at the establishment of a social order.
What strikes me is that a certain ongoing discussion about the legality of deadly force was not addressed as an issue of justice by a certain party, but as an issue of statute. Irregardless of the jurisdiction or current law, if one is threatened with death, it is not just right, but *just* to intervene with all due force to prevent it. |
