I always wondered why blue chip techs like INTC and MSFT stayed on the NASDAQ with it's corruption , occasional lack of liquidity and wide bid-ask spreads. Part of answer apparently has to do with the way insiders can buy and sell. I don't remember the exact details but there are limitations on these transactions based on volume. As you know much of the volume on NASDAQ is phoney, market makers transacting with each other, but the SEC counts this as valid. Staying on NASDAQ could be as much a question of insider benefits as anything else.
