How about a conspiracy theory to explain the analyst's behaviour toward Dell lately.

1. Forbes article appears on Dell taking $3.1B due to its options trading.

2. The Street views this as money taken out of their (i.e. the institution's) pockets. And they're mad as hell. And they want it back.

3. So they take action to attempt to reduce the value of the Puts/Calls Dell has Sold/Bought.

Don't know whether this does anything for anyone else on the thread, but it does help me understand a motive for Kumar et al to recognize that Dell will continue to grow faster than their best Strong Buy ratings, produce an ROIC to die for, etc, yet still make negative statements about the company's short term prospects.

Just some random thoughts to start the weekend.

Ian.
