Tuesday March 11 5:17 PM EST Cascade( Cascade Communications Corp )in Frame Relay deal with Chile firm WESTFORD, Mass., March 11 (Reuter) - Cascade Communications Corp said Tuesday that a Chilean telecommunications firm has chosen Cascades switches to form its Frame Relay backbone network. Terms of the agreement between Cascade and VTR Larga Distancia were not disclosed. VTR will install a backbone of Cascade Frame Relay multiservice switches in eight major cities in Chile, connecting them to a main hub in Santiago. Frame Relay is a high speed data network that many telecommunication carriers and large corporate networks are using to handle internet communications and traffic. VTR is owned by the Luksic holding group, and SBC Communications Inc Southwestern Bell.
