BPCL buys 6 per cent of Cochin airport

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) has picked up a six per cent stake in Cochin International Airport (CIA), a company statement said yesterday. The Corporation hopes to reiterate its commitment to the development of Kerala by commissioning a hydrant fuelling system for aircraft fuelling at CIA. The system, constructed at a cost of Rs. 185 million, is the first of its kind in the south. BPCL are pioneers in aviation fuelling. The set up the first hydrant system in the country at Santacruz airport in Mumbai. The investment by BPCL comes at a time when it has received the cabinet approval to merge the stand-alone refinery, Cochin Refineries Ltd (CRL) with itself.
