From what I understand it was only approved for short term use because long term studies haven't been done yet. The osteoporosis question also is lingering for the same reason. Most experts seem to feel that these questions will be resolved in time and in Cenestin's favor. It is believed that the Cenestin estrogen will do the same thing as Premarin's estrogen since its basis is the same. It looks like AHP may try to prove that their piss has some extra components that make it better. Part of the reason why Cenestin couldn't be approved as a generic some time back is that the actual ingredients in piss tend to change. The piss couldn't be defined. Duramed believes they have all the vital ingredients minus impurities.
