Amazon.com Picks Atlanta for Distribution Center, Paper Says

Atlanta, May 21 (Bloomberg) -- Amazon.com Inc. will begin leasing up to 800,000 square feet near Atlanta for a regional distribution center, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reported, citing unidentified sources. Amazon.com will lease the space in suburban Henry County, Georgia, from First Industrial Realty Trust Inc. of Chicago. Amazon.com, which could create as many as 500 jobs in the Atlanta area, operates distribution centers in Seattle; New Castle, Delaware; Fernley, Nevada; and Coffeyville, Kansas.
Amazon.com, the largest Internet retailer, yesterday filed to raise as much as $2 billion by selling debt, common or preferred stock, or other securities.
